As of March 2016, the C-bed vessel Wind Solution is off to the German North Sea and the DanTysk offshore wind farm on a maintenance assignment.
During this project, transfer of workers to the offshore wind turbines are done via crew transfer vessels using Wind Solutions’ 2016 upgraded purpose built boat landing. In this way, Wind Solution is saving 4-6 hours of uncomfortable transfer between shore and wind farm every day during the project.
DanTysk Offshore Wind comprises 80 Siemens Wind Power 3.6MW turbines (total of 288MW) and produced the first power in December 2014. The wind farm is located 90km from the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark, which will function as base port for Wind Solution during the project contract period.
Upgrading on-board facilities in 2015
Wind Solution has formed part of the C-bed fleet since the company establishment and thereby holds vast experience with offshore wind farm projects since 2008.
In 2015, the vessel went through an extensive upgrade, which included establishment of 20 additional cabins and thereby raising the total number of single cabins to 100. All cabins are equipped with own bath/toilet, TV, and internet connection. Furthermore, Wind Solutions now also holds office facilities for 2+10+12 persons in three different rooms.
